Charlotte Tilbury opens its doors to its largest global retail space to date, “Beauty Wonderland”
In January 2025, the flagship Charlotte Tilbury opened its doors in Covent Garden, London, marking a new chapter for the brand with its largest global retail wonderland to date. Charlotte Tilbury revolutionised the landscape of beauty by creating iconic skincare, make up, cosmetics and fragrances. Having worked with the brand for over eight years, delivering 22 stores globally, from Shanghai, Hong Kong, Dubai, and Miami and now to London, Zebra’s familiarity with the brand’s ethos, design and values was instrumental in the project’s success.
Located at 1 St. James Street in the historic district of Covent Garden, the store occupies 3,400 sqm within a listed building. Situated on the ground floor and basement of the property, the store seamlessly blends the charm of London’s historic architecture with the vibrant character of the Charlotte Tilbury brand.
When tackling the space, Charlotte Tilbury focused on creating a space that felt luxurious, incorporating theatrical elements and a touch of glamour. Charlotte Tilbury designed an immersive retail space that provides customers an unforgettable beauty experience. This flagship store, referred to as the “Beauty Wonderland,” showcases the brand’s extensive range of products in an environment that encapsulates the brand’s glamour, artistry, and innovation.
The store’s concept draws heavily on the glamour and theatricality that Charlotte Tilbury is known for. Art Deco influences are evident throughout the space, with touches of rose gold and night crimson lending a sense of drama and Hollywood glamour to the store and experience. These elements are balanced by a palette of silver and blush nude tones in the spa area and Rose gold and Night crimson to the rest.
Taking Charlotte Tilbury’s initial concept, Zebra further developed the design creating a full detailed design construction set, which was then implemented and managed throughout the duration of the project by Zebra.
The ground floor serves as the heart of the Beauty Wonderland, featuring the iconic Pillow Talk Bar at its center. This interactive space invites customers to explore and experiment with the brand’s products. In the basement, the focus shifts to skincare and personalised services. A dedicated skincare spa offers treatment rooms designed in calming tones of silver and nude, creating a serene environment for facials and other services. This spa is a first, globally! The space also includes a luxurious boudoir, catering to makeup trials and exclusive events, reinforcing the brand’s emphasis on bespoke experiences.
Material selection and design details were carefully curated to align with the brand’s aesthetic, ensuring that materials and processes were chosen with longevity and quality in mind. From the mirrored surfaces and ambient lighting to the carefully crafted visual displays, every detail has been designed to enhance the customer experience.
