Our design for West Elm in San Mateo, California, serves as a gateway to the newly developed North Block of Hillsdale Mall. During the day, the space is enveloped in bright Californian sunlight that presents sweeping exterior views. At night, it is transformed into a glowing lantern, showcasing the brand’s collection of fine home furnishings.
The concept of evolution connects West Elm’s furniture and accessories to the ever-changing lifestyle of the consumer. The brand’s focus on multifunctionality, flexibility and urban living aesthetic, is reflected in the space’s industrial interior, paired with sleek glass, smart paneling and warm, artful lighting. A well-considered, multi-level layout supports and encourages journeys of product discovery that are all wrapped in the brand’s signature level of comfort. Texture, pattern and choice play key roles in this modern shopping experience that enables consumers to visualize and achieve their interior design dreams.
